Several more students of a former boarding school in Moate have reported being sexually abused in the 1970’s and 1980’s following the reports of the abuse in the Irish Times last week.
Former students of the school have commented that abuse during classes was a “regular thing”.
The Carmelite provincial Fr Michael Troy encouraged anyone abused in the order’s schools, or other settings, to come forward.
