The Plaintiff presented to his GP complaining of pain in his right calf and heel and swelling of his ankle. The plaintiff was referred to Connolly Hospital for X-ray examination to out rule an ankle fracture.
Three weeks later, the plaintiff presented at the emergency department of Connolly Hospital complaining of ongoing pain and swelling in his right calf. Following examination, the Plaintiff was diagnosed with a rupture of the right Achilles Tendon for which he underwent repair surgery.
Due to the delay in diagnosis of a ruptured Achilles Tendon, the plaintiff’s had a very long and difficult recovery.
Proceedings were issued on behalf of the Plaintiff and the case was successfully settled with costs in advance of the trial date.
